Municipal Affairs Department administers municipal affairs of this State through a number of statutes. These statutes are of two types. Principal Legislations and Sub-ordinate Legislation. Principal Legislations, i.e. different Acts, are made by the State Legislature. Subordinate Legislations are different Rules framed under the Acts by the State Government and are laid in the Legislative Assembly to seek views, if any, of the Legislature.
