The West Bengal Municipal (Duties & Responsibilities of Executive Officers) Rules 2003
As per provision of the Act the Executive Officers of the Municipalities function as the Chief Executive Officers subject to supervision and control of the Chairman. In this rules the duties & responsibilities have been clearly earmarked. As per provision of this rules the Executive Officers shall be responsible for establishment matters of the Municipalities as well as Financial Management of the Municipal. In the Municipalities where Chairman-in-Council exist, the Executive Officers functions as the Member Secretary of the Chairman-in-Council.
