Strengthening of District Urban Development Agency (DUDA)
In order to monitor various functions of municipalities
at District level, District Urban Development Agency was
created in various districts. But those agencies had
almost become non-functional. In order to strengthen the
DUDAs, 17 posts of District Municipal Development
Officers (DMDO) have been created who will act as
convener of DUDA and will coordinate with the ULBs in
various programmes. A few DMDO have already been posted
in some districts.
