The most important feature of SJSRY scheme is the active participation of the women of these poor families in formulating, implementing and supervising the schemes. For this a three-tier structure has been formed at the municipal level. The women members of these Thrift and Credit Groups of different municipalities exhibited at different State Level exhibition and their products were very much acclaimed. The implementation of these schemes in this State has also earned high praise in the evaluation made by the Central Government.
Necessary circular has been issued to the municipalities to include the above-mentioned women groups in various civic services like Solid Waste Management, creation of urban infrastructure in slums etc. and in quite a few ULBs these groups have been actively involved in some basic civic services like conservancy services, maintenance of street light and collection of user charges.
Through successful implementation of this programme following achievements have been made.

Access to education and health services has increased due to awareness and visible income opportunities through SJSRY
