• Dhupguri — Process of selection of HHWs will be initiated after the ensuing municipal election to be held on 27.05.2007.

Out of 60 ULBs, 5 ULBs i.e. Kulti, Dhulian, Murshidabad, Gobardanga and Islampur could not be make further progress due to lodgment of complaints.

1210 no. of HHWs has already been selected out of 1255.

Programme management system established

(i) Setting up of M & S Cell at ULB level

>  Govt. order issued during February & March, 2007 in respect of contractual engagement of manpower (i.e. Medical Officer for whose ULBs having more than 40,000 population, SI, Computer Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Multipurpose Helper cum Storekeeper and Health Assistant) except Health Officer, for each of the ULBs.

>   Two ULBs namely Bangaon and Jiaganj Azimganj have engaged the manpower.
